I'm one of the 30% of US adults who grind their teeth. I tried $15 boil-and-bite guards from the drugstore, but they felt huge and awkward - fine for a football game, but not for 8 hours each night. When my dentist quoted $500 for a custom night guard, it seemed outrageous. That frustration pushed me to look for something better, and when nothing turned up, I quit my job and set out to create it myself.
I started Remi in 2019 from my San Francisco apartment, driven by one plain belief: dentist-quality oral care should be within everyone's reach, without office-level prices. So that we could pass the lowest possible prices straight to customers and keep tight control over quality, we set up our own FDA-registered dental lab producing custom night guards, custom retainers, and teeth whitening kits.
Years of research and development went into finding the right materials, which we went on to patent, and we funded the first FDA-cleared clinical trials to test our process.
